Mike Bledsoe
Michael Bledsoe became the head football coach at Sparta Academy in 1976 where his two teams went 10-12-1. He next landed the head football coaching job at Lyeffion in 1981 for five years.
Bledsoe returned to Sparta Academy in 1986 and remained for the next nine years as the head football coach.
In 2010, Michael Bledsoe came out of retirement to rebuild the Sparta Academy program. Sparta had endured a winless season previous year. Coach Bledsoe coached his last team to a 4-7 record in 2010.

The Tuscaloosa Black Bears were considered one of the best programs in the nation from 1925-1931. Their record over that span was an amazing 61-0-3.
